The Duncan Estate in Spartanburg, SC, built in 1897, offers a picture-perfect wedding venue combining timeless elegance and Southern charm. Set amidst lush gardens and historic architecture, this enchanting estate provides an idyllic backdrop for your special day. Morgan Graham was a hard-working construction manager for a restaurant chain in the early 1970s. He built steakhouses all over the country, and retired with a very nice nest egg. He used it to buy an 1820s grist mill on 46 acres in Landrum South Carolina, split by the Middle Tyger River. The property was an old campground with several useful buildings. Morgan made many improvements on the property and opened the Conservatory at Willow Creek. The Conservatory served for years as a stunning and memorable wedding venue in the upstate.
When Morgan passed away in 2017, the property was leased out to a catering company which continued Morgan’s dream of providing a beautiful space and wonderful memories. Unfortunately, the Conservatory did not withstand the economic impact of COVID, and sat vacant for several years.
By the time the estate was purchased by Alan and Jennifer Zordan, it was in a state of neglect. As they cleaned up the property and cut back the overgrowth, they realized what an absolute jewel they had purchased! The buildings were in better shape than initially thought, and with a little elbow grease they are bringing back to life a breathtaking property with a rich local history, and are honored to be able to continue Morgan's dream into the future.
